Telluride Trading Company was established in 2015 and is owned and operated by Telluride locals Damon Nilsson and Molly Radecki.
Our primary goal will be seeking out and promoting the work of local artists, with the additional aim of creating partnerships with many of the small businesses right here in Telluride. Ultimately, we hope to function as a supplemental avenue of exposure for working artists and small business owners, and to act as a conduit through which locals and visitors alike can connect to a multitude of goods, services, and local deals. We are incredibly excited by the overwhelming support we have received so far, and our list of featured artists eager to work with us continues to grow!

Molly and Damon
I came to Telluride in August 2013 after spending many years as a teacher and youth rec worker in northeastern Massachusetts, with the desire to take some time off from the regular grind and explore more creative pursuits for a time. I was lucky enough to land a position at The Steaming Bean right away, which provided virtually unlimited networking opportunities within the small community, as The Bean basically functioned as Telluride's living room! I had my first solo art show in years in April of 2014 at The Steaming Bean, and was incredibly humbled by the feedback I received as well as by the sales I made. During my preparations leading up to the show, I took over management of Melange, a local gallery and boutique featuring hand made creations by dozens of artists living mostly here among the San Juans. I learned quickly that I had a strong affinity for seeking out new artists' work, and would find myself getting very excited when talking about the many talented people we were representing. Above all, it felt fantastic to be supporting so many hard-working locals, many of which were exclusively making art for a living. With the sudden closing of Melange in the Spring of 2015, there appeared a void in my life which is still felt to this day.
Enter Telluride Trading Company! Having built so many wonderful relationships with numerous local artists, I was immediately excited when I was approached by Molly, and offered the opportunity to partner with her on this new online venture. I saw it both as a way to reawaken the role I played at the gallery as promoter of art that I love, as well as a way to reach out to other small businesses in town seeking online exposure for marketing their own unique goods. So far, the support we have received has been overwhelming, and I look forward to investing a great deal of my time in growing the site by gathering more artists as we travel the region seeking out new talent at markets, fairs and festivals!
